Insurance Coverage

1. What is "StudentProtect"? A: StudentProtect provides financial compensation to you to complete your degree program at your university when one of your parent which you identify in the application form suffers personal accident. It also compensates you when you suffer an accident.

In addition to insurance benefits, StudentProtect holders also get a privilege card which entitles them to discount benefits at various participating outlets.

2. What does it mean by "Personal Accident"? A: Personal accident means death or personal total disablement including loss of limbs (arms or legs), loss of one or both eyes, loss of speech and hearing, and total loss of hearing in one or both ears.

The accident must cause bodily injuries for the claim to be payable. Examples of bodily injuries are motorcycle accident, head collision with an object and tripping over a staircase.

3. Does StudentProtect cover sicknesses or diseases? No. StudentProtect only covers bodily injuries caused by accidental means.

4. What does Education Fund cover? Education Fund benefits will be payable to you when your parent suffers a personal accident. The fund covers tuition fees, course materials and monthly allowance.

Claim Procedure

1. How do I make a claim? Notify Forte Insurance by telephone, email or fax as soon as possible. Then, request a Claim Form from your university or download it here. Fill in the form and bring it along with other documentary evidence (e.g. medical test result, invoice, prescription) to Forte Insurance. Please see address below.

2. How do I know whether my claim is payable? StudentProtect covers you and one of your parent/legal guardian in case of death or permanent disablement. You will also be covered for medical expense following the accident up to a specified annual limit.

3. How long does it take to get my claim payment? The turnaround time varies depend on the nature of the accident. It can take up to 30 days or months in case of complex case. However, if there is sufficient documentary evidence, Forte can usually settle the case within days.

4. How long do I have to report a claim? It is advisable to notify Forte as soon as you have a claim. Once you have documentary evidence(s), you can submit the completed claim form later to Forte at a time of your convenience. The sooner we receive all documentary evidences, the faster we can process your claim

Fun & Discounts

1. What do I do to get discounts? A: Simply present your StudentProtect card along with your Student ID card. The shops that provides discount will display a sticker at their door or the cash counter. The shops may check or record your name and ID for verification purpose.
